It’s Week 3, we’re at the half way point and work on my office has finally begun. I’m a little nervous about meeting the 6 week deadline, so much still has to happen before the big reveal. Today I’m sharing the progress so far, numerous purchases are still to arrive and decisions need to be made, it’s a work in progress for sure.

As you may recall from the before pictures I started with a blank canvas, my goal to create a light, bright space full of warmth and style.

We started with paint. I taped a few swatches to the wall and continued about my business for a week or so glancing at the swatches as I went by.

At this point I was pretty sure SW Repose Grey was the color but decided I should probably slap some sample paint on the wall to be sure.  Once at the paint store I perused the gray color chips again and ended up coming home with Repose Gray, Agreeable Gray and Wordly Gray.

Once on the wall the Repose Gray looked too blue, Agreeable Gray and Wordly Gray are so similar, however Wordly Gray is a little darker and has more brown in it. Agreeable Gray had the right undertones but it still felt a bit dark to me, so we had the paint store mix it at 50%.

Once the color was chosen it was time to clear out the room, patch a few holes and get it painted. Thanks to my hard working husband for doing most of the work.

And here is how it looks after!!

I had hoped to show you my built-in’s this week but my cabinet maker had to reschedule, so I’ll be sharing those next week. I did however receive some samples of the cabinet hardware I’m considering. They’re all so pretty I’m having a hard time deciding!!

My beautiful Pottery Barn Printers Desk is here and I love it. That’s it up there with all that hardware on it. The wood finish is gorgeous and it’s nice and big, so I have lots of room to spread out when I’m pulling fabric samples and gathering ideas for clients.

I’ve also ordered this pretty light fixture, can’t wait for it to arrive and to get it installed. It’s going to be so much nicer than the current ‘boob’ light situation.

I still have a few decisions to make, like choosing a rug and window treatments!!  Yikes……I better get cracking’!!
