If this is your first time visiting for the Spring 2018 challenge let me fill you in. I’m working on my daughters boho chic bedroom. Here is the mood board I shared last week.

The fact that we’re already half way through makes me a bit nervous. If I were working with a design client I’d advise them that it will take at least 6 weeks from design approval to installation. Yikes!! And here I am with just 3 weeks until reveal photos, which really means I have about 2 weeks until photoshoot.

Anyway we did make some progress this week.

We hadn’t quite settled on a grey paint color so samples went up on the wall. We tried SW Silverplate (Left), SW Passive (Center) and SW Repose Grey (Right). Against the very light walls all of the colors looked shockingly dark, but as I advise clients, this is to be expected whats important is to look at the undertones. Do you see any colors within the sample?

Passive definitely has a lot of blue, while Silverplate looked a little purple. When choosing a paint color you should also look at the other colors you have in the space, for instance painting the walls Passive in a space that will have lots of blue will likely bring out more of the blue. Since there is going to be purples and blues in this space we opted for the more neutral Repose Grey. We did however choose to go a little lighter and have it mixed at 75%.

Here are the freshly painted walls, touch up spots and all.

In additional to painting, we’ve placed orders for the bedding, hanging chair, lamp and artwork, as well as a few decorative items.

I’m still waiting on fabric samples for the window treatment – – it might be a stretch to have this fabricated and installed for the reveal.

Stay tuned as we reveal more of the progress next week!live beautifully.png
